The Fabulous 50th Post!
Everyone celebrate my 50th post!
First of all, I don't ever see anyone I know on the Interstate, however, the crazy driver returneth! I saw Nicole for the second time in a handful of months on the Interstate, there she was honking away!!
The Wal-Mart in Newcastle needs to re-evaluate its TLC department. For those not down on Wal-Mart lingo, that's Tire & Lube Center. If you get bored waiting for your car to finish getting its oil changed...try this!
I saw King Kong 1 1/3 times today. Let me tell you, the Universal Monster Movie is totally reborn. King Kong is the best Monster Movie I've ever seen. The BEST movie I've seen in 2005! And if Spider-Man isn't listening, probably one of the best movies ever! Peter Jackson is a complete movie genius. The way he weaves character, story, and special effects is unparalleled. This is definately a great pick up after a disappointing Narnia. Jackson developed characters in this film extremely well. You feel emotionally attached to Kong, Ann (Naomi Watts), Carl (Jack Black), even a ship crew member Jimmy (played by Jamie Bell). Unfortunately you don't feel even a slight attachment to the title Character of Narnia, Aslan, the Lion of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I am totally surprised by Jack Black's performance in this movie. He is incredible. You get inside his head and follow him on his path of self destruction. Plus, don't miss an extraordinary performance by Tom Hanks son, Colin! Every person, at least around me, laughed, jumped, and cried or almost cried in this film. It has everything!!! This is a must watch! A 15 out of a possible 10!
The reason I saw it 1/3 of a time more than I should have is because originally I planned on seeing it in Harkins in Bricktown. I was in the theater and about 45 mintues into this 3 hour adventure and the screen went black, the lights went out! I was totally into the movie at this point, even though Kong hadn't even made an onscreen appearance yet! I'm telling you, this is a great storyline! Anyway, an usher came in and told us that the power was out and just to wait. We waited a good thirty minutes before re-entry passes were handed out. The power outage was not caused by the slushy snow that was falling outside, but by a blown transformer near Toby Keith's I Love this Bar and Grill! I'm not sure what happened at Toby's but, 3 fire trucks and 2 police cars surrounded the bar when I was leaving the theater.
After returning home from the blackened Bricktown, I saw my friend Nicole again, this time not on the Interstate or in real life, but I did see her saying "I'll take it" on a Big Red Sports and Imports commerical. It was great.
All these adventures happened while I was wearing my sweet new Ghostbuster's t-shirt, that Nicole gave me for Christmas...Thanks Nicole!!
In honor of my 50th post, I want to spend a little time telling you about another 50th celebration. Disneyland is 50 this year and I'm going there in about 2 weeks. I'm so excited. When I was little, my parents took me to Disneyland, but I left disappointed because I did not get to see Mickey Mouse. This time I will not leave until I see Mickey!! I'm going to love spending part of my vacation at the happiest place on Earth!
If you need help picking out your next book to read, try the DaVinci Code, that's what I'm about to start...got to get ready for Tom Hanks in the movie next May!

The new Apprentice Randal Sucks!
If you missed the Apprentice, you missed the greed and downright unsportsmanship of Randal, the ultimate Apprentice winner. Randal had the opportunity to allow Donald Trump to hire his co-contestant Rebecca (the Apprentice of all our hearts!). Randal denied the dream and the hardwork of Rebecca for his own self gratification and glory. Randal was booed at the closing moments of the show...on stage, and rightfully so! Boo Randal!
To visit NBC, the network home of the Apprentice...go here!

Just a day after I ranted and raived over airline safety...
Jet slides off runway.
Although this has nothing to do with security, it is an example of safety. No one on the plane was injuried, however it did run off into a highway and injuried a person in a motor vehicle. This was weather related. Despite this story, I'm still flying this Christmas, and as a part of the FAA family I comend the effort of everyone involved to insure that there were no furthe injuries. The FAA works tirelessly to make sure that they Move America Safely!

Score one for DHS!!
I'm proud of my former employer and the work that the men and women of the Federal Air Marshals do! This definitely shows that airline security is at its best. Score one for our side. And this on the tails of the 9/11 commission saying we were weak in security. Way to go Miami International! However, the 9/11 commission may have something, because just because we are strong in airline security doesn't mean our homeland is secure...What other areas are we weak in, and how can we improve on those areas, so that they are just as good or better than what DHS has accomplished in air travel? Read the story from CNN.
