Crazy Drivers

So, Last Thursday I was driving home from Norman, after running some errands on my day off. I was on I-35, when some crazy car started honking at me and veering almost into my lane. I stayed my course, looked straight ahead...I was not giving this crazy the satisfaction of looking into my eyes. More Honks! What is this person thinking!! A quick glance, but still no budging on my part. More Honks! Ok, now, I had to flash a bad look their way. Wait...I know that woman (yes, women drivers, blah!), it was Nicole! Nicole was trying to get into my lane...well, not really, she was just trying to get my attention. Oh well, I survived, but it is fun to run into someone you know on a major highway.

The curiosity

Ok, My second blog is not a normal blog, nor is it replacing this blog. This blog is for thoughts and words, my second blog will be purely a photo-blog, a photo and caption, that's it. The world is pictures! The pictures of our lives, our world, that I find most amusing, spectacular, peculiar, or just plain cool will end up there. Please enjoy both!!

See my new blog!

dun dun duuuuuuuuuuun.....

Number 1.

Freedom of Religion. This is sorta a knife that cuts both ways as far as my love for America goes. On the one hand, I get to worship, an awesome, glorious, merciful, God, the one true God. I get to do this freely, in my car, in my front lawn, in line at the grocery store, anywhere! However, the opposite side of the coin says that anyone can practice any other religion that they want to. I'm sad for these people, as they do not know God or his son, Christ Jesus. And if they do, they refuse acknowledgement. This freedom of other religions, can, and does tread on the toes of my Christianity. I would love to say a prayer again communally before an OU football game, but that day is far off, if at all. Even the pledge of allegiance is in danger, because someone's feelings may be hurt. Take Under God out...I still know that our world and country is under God. Take the ten commandments out of public buildings, I'm still going to know them and follow them. I, can still take those things, those acts of worship, with me, in my heart and in my mind and in my conversations with the Holy Father. I can worship unashamed, how great is that?

Dear Father,

Please bless this nation, a nation Under YOU!
Please be with those in need and show them your grace, also show them your sovereignty and let them learn the lesson you show. Lord, please comfort us in the fact that if scripture is taken off of stone walls, that you will never let it depart from our hearts and tongues. The walls that your scripture is on is in honor of you. But as is all things on this earth, rust, moth, or thieves will destroy, but your Word lasts forever. Thank you Father, take joy at the works of your people as they say Amen.

Why I almost cried today....

No, it wasn't because we almost lost to Baylor in double overtime...although that would be a great reason...no the reason takes me back to something I've been blogging about for awhile.

In fact it is number 2, in my countdown about what is great in America. (If you forgot or don't know about the rest of the list, check out previous months!)

2. The National Anthem. For some reason I got a little misty eyed during the playing of our country's theme song tonight at the OU/Baylor game. I have no particular reason as to why my emotions got the best of me, all I know is I was really, really glad to be an American at that point, goose bumps raced up and down my arms. It is amazing how a song or an image can evoke so much emotion, but it can, and it does. Now number 2 has room for more than the anthem, in fact any American symbol that can cause you to reflect how great America is, the Washington Monument, the Grand Canyon, the Sears Tower, or the Statue of Liberty. Any symbol that is easily recognizable as American pride...the bald eagle perhaps!

Kindness...

The kindness of friends. I received a very lovely card in the mail. Very rarely does one receive snail mail that isn't junk/bills. But, this was a card for me, just for me, for no reason, except to say hey how are you doing. It was quite pleasant to receive such correspondence unexpectedly. It really brightened my day! Thanks T!

Events at OU

I attended the OU/KSU game tonight and did hear the explosion. I, like others around me, were unsure at first what the sound was. People soon after began getting text messages on there cell phones saying a sucide bomber was the cause. This caused some alarm, but was lessened when a person with a radio said that the reports on the radio said it was a lab explosion. Fans were encouraged by PA not to exit the West side of the stadium for their safety. However, we were not told by announcers of the reason. The bombing was a person committing sucide, at this point, it is unclear if the person wanted to harm other people.

I understand that officials don't want to cause panic, however do people have the right to be informed of what is going on around them, especially when it involves explosion devices?
