No, it wasn't because we almost lost to Baylor in double overtime...although that would be a great reason...no the reason takes me back to something I've been blogging about for awhile.
In fact it is number 2, in my countdown about what is great in America. (If you forgot or don't know about the rest of the list, check out previous months!)
2. The National Anthem. For some reason I got a little misty eyed during the playing of our country's theme song tonight at the OU/Baylor game. I have no particular reason as to why my emotions got the best of me, all I know is I was really, really glad to be an American at that point, goose bumps raced up and down my arms. It is amazing how a song or an image can evoke so much emotion, but it can, and it does. Now number 2 has room for more than the anthem, in fact any American symbol that can cause you to reflect how great America is, the Washington Monument, the Grand Canyon, the Sears Tower, or the Statue of Liberty. Any symbol that is easily recognizable as American pride...the bald eagle perhaps!
