The fabulous supply of food, but more importantly Hamburgers! I don't know if it was becasue my Grandmother grew up during the depression, or if she just really liked hamburgers, but she would eat one almost everyday. I think during the depression, it was a special treat for her to get a hamburger, and so now it is a very treasured item for her. I share my Grandmother's passion for this food, some people say steak, but I say, hamburger, you just can't help but savor the flavor. I like mine with mayo, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and maybe some ketchup or barbecue sauce. Yummy! But, I'm not afraid to try different things, fried onion strings, jalapenos, guacamole, cole slaw, you name it! Listen, I can easily drive to a McDonald's at any time (24 hours a day!), I think we take for granted how easily food is available in this country. This is why I'm thankful I'm an American!
